After deciding on a whim to do a Grand Circle trip I started doing some research about which parks we should prioritize on the trip. Literally every person I asked who had done a similar trip said Zion was a must see. Quite a few people even said they preferred it over the Grand Canyon! After seeing Zion National Park for myself I can see why. Part of what sets Zion apart from the other parks, at least to me, was how green it was. This park gets more rainfall than most of the other parks in the Grand Circle area so there is a lot more vegetation. This results in a dramatic landscape of bright green framed by epic canyon walls and a wide open blue sky. It's easily one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to.
We only spent a few days in Zion which wasn't nearly enough time. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to go back but if you're not planning on doing the full Grand Circle trip another option is to do Zion, Bryce, and the North rim. Or you could just spend all the time in Zion and you won't regret it. The park is always busy but a lot of visitors flock to the most popular trails like Angels Landing and The Narrows. If you want to see those trails then leave early in the morning to avoid the biggest crowds. But don't forget that there are plenty of other trails that won't be nearly as crowded as those ones.
